The recent archaeological discovery at Malayadipatti village in Tenkasi district has unearthed over 100 artifacts, shedding light on the rich history of the region. Minister A Rajmohan, the School Education and Tamil Development Minister, shared the findings on his X handle, highlighting the diverse range of objects found. From microlithic stone tools to shell bangles, terracotta spindle whorls, and even a gold bead, the excavation offers a glimpse into the ancient practices and craftsmanship of the Sangam period. The presence of iron tool-making, bead manufacturing, and weaving workshops is particularly intriguing, suggesting a thriving local industry.
