Cooper Flagg, a Maine native, made history in the NBA, scoring a game-high 36 points against the Boston Celtics. At just 19 years old, Flagg became the youngest player ever to score 30 or more points in three consecutive games. He achieved a career-high 49 points on January 29 against the Charlotte Hornets and followed it up with 34 points against the Houston Rockets two days later. Flagg's impressive performance has made him the fourth teenager in NBA history to record multiple games of 35 or more points, five or more rebounds, and five or more assists. This achievement places him alongside basketball legends like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Luka Doncic. On December 15, 2025, Flagg recorded an impressive 42 points, seven rebounds, and six assists against the Utah Jazz. However, the Celtics defeated the Mavericks 110-100 in Dallas, with All-Star Jaylen Brown leading the way with a double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds. Earlier in the day, Flagg was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month for January, making him the perfect three-for-three with the award to start the season. Brown, on the other hand, was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for January. The Celtics also made a significant trade, acquiring center Nikola Vucevic from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for guard Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick. Simons missed the game against the Mavericks due to personal reasons. Flagg will have the opportunity to continue his scoring streak on Thursday when the Mavericks host the San Antonio Spurs.
